For over 20 years a unique community in Boulder, Colorado has been gathering every Sunday night for the magic of Kirtan – the transformative energy of live music, chanting and dancing. What started in India over two thousand years ago is now in the US a fusion of East and West that soothes the soul and calms the mind. Boulder Kirtan Fever tells the story and shares the experience of the dedicated people who founded Bhakti Shakti Kirtan and keep it vibrant as part of a growing community of participants, musicians and leaders.

Director

Doug began making movies with a wind-up 8mm camera when he was 6 years old. His best known film is The Life Penalty, an anti-death penalty feature length documentary. The film was accepted by 16 film festivals, including the Boulder International Film Festival, winning the Best Documentary Award at the Macon, Georgia Film and Video Festival in 2009. In Havana Car Club, Doug shared his passion for classic American cars, winning the Best Documentary Award at the 2022 XicanIndie Film Fest in Denver. This feature length documentary delves into how American cars have become a significant and beloved part of Cuban life and culture as a result of the embargo that the United States imposed in 1960.
